Last summer, after being inspired by a fellow-staff photographer at the newspaper where I formerly worked, I decided to try some night photography. I have been hooked ever since. These are photos I have taken around Vermont over the last couple of months.
The first photo, is a shot of the Milky Way rising over the horizon with a bit of added color from a Coronal Mass Ejection that happened around June 19, 2014.
The Second shot is the same location as the first, looking towards the west. There is still some residual color in the sky that I am guessing was Aurora related.
Photo 3 is a barn in the Vermont town of Cabot with a streetlight providing a little extra illumination.
Photo number 4 is a meteor flaming out over a farm in the tiny town of Cabot Vermont.
Photo 5 is a crescent moon rising over Camel’s Hump in central Vermont.
Photo 6 is a photo of the night sky taken from an overpass in the Vermont town of Berlin. The passing traffic is transformed by the slow shutter speed into streaks of light.
Photo 7 is taken on the shore of Berlin Pond, in Berlin Vermont with some unexpected color being cause by city lights reflecting off the clouds.
Photo 8 is the setting sun captured from the top of a mountain pass in Waitsfield Vermont.
The final photo is a tree in a field at sunset near the Vermont town of Barre.
